Mirage® Prestige 5 System Recognized for Innovation

CEA® names compact home theater setup a finalist in the 2008 Mark of Excellence Awards

Mirage® Prestige 5 System Recognized for Innovation

INDIANAPOLIS (February 7, 2008) — On February 5, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced the finalists of its 2008 Mark of Excellence Awards. The Mirage® Prestige 5 System was among them, recognized for its outstanding achievement and innovation in the best speaker systems category.

The Mirage brand is synonymous with Omnipolar® technology; this small home theater setup—consisting of four Nanosat® Prestige satellites and a Nano center channel—boldly produces 360-degrees of audio brilliance. A patented Omniguide module (patent #6,996,243) distributes sound directly toward the listener, as well as reflects it off walls, ceilings and other surfaces, resulting in total immersion.

For increased low-frequency response, the company recommends pairing the Prestige 5 with an optional Prestige S8 subwoofer so users can hear and feel dynamic music and movie content. Featuring an 8-inch driver, this hard-hitter utilizes patented Ribbed Elliptical Surround technology, a design that eliminates surround distortion, enabling the subwoofer to play lower with greater output and fidelity.

The Prestige 5 System and Prestige S8 subwoofer not only let consumers enjoy a big theater experience at home, they are elegantly crafted and feature a modern, beautiful finish that adds a splash of sophistication to any room. Plus, this compact setup easily fits anywhere and in any type of environment.

Available in a sophisticated high-gloss black piano lacquer finish, the Prestige 5 bundle is priced at $899 (U.S. MSRP), while the optional Prestige S8 subwoofer can be purchased for $499 (U.S. MSRP).

The Mark of Excellence Awards program, presented by CEA's TechHome Division, recognizes the best in custom home electronics products, services, and installed technology. Each year, manufacturers, distributors, and systems integrators enter to compete in award categories for this coveted honor. A four-member judging team comprised of systems integrators, manufacturers and members of the trade press/industry consultants evaluate the entries.

All of the winners will be announced at an awards dinner on Friday, March 14 at the Rosen Centre Hotel, during the ninth annual Electronic House Expo (EHX) Spring 2008.
