Prestige Subwoofers From Mirage Pack a Sophisticated Punch
Small, elegant subwoofers designed to affordably deliver true audiophile performance
TORONTO, ON (August 28, 2007) — Designed to deliver clean sounding, room-filling bass from small, elegant cabinets, the new Mirage Prestige S10 and S8 subwoofers are the perfect bottom-end complement to the company?s OM Design series (select models) as well as the OS3 and Nanosat Prestige systems.
?A great value, our Prestige subwoofers will shatter your expectations by packing unique technologies for deeper, louder bass and presenting luxurious cosmetics that rival those of more expensive designs,? said
A bass-reflex design with dual rear-firing ports, the Prestige S10 features a powerful 10-inch front-firing fiberglass composite driver with patented Ribbed Elliptical Surround™. This proprietary design eliminates any surround dimpling, enabling the subwoofer to play lower with greater output and fidelity. A high-performance BASH® amplifier allows this hard-hitter to deliver 300 watts of continuous power and 1,200 watts of dynamic peak power.
A bass-reflex design with a single rear-firing port, the smaller Prestige S8 offers the same driver technology as the S10, but instead utilizes an 8-inch woofer and generates 200 watts of continuous power and 800 watts of dynamic peak power.
Both models feature low level and stereo high level inputs and have an 18dB/octave variable low-pass filter that is continuously adjustable from 40Hz to 120Hz. A fully variable phase control from -180 to +180 facilitates the ideal acoustical integration of each subwoofer with other speakers in a Mirage system.
Available in a sophisticated high gloss piano black lacquer finish with black cloth grille, both the Prestige S10 and S8 offer a clean, modern design that easily integrates into any living environment. Acoustically decoupling spike feet and rubber bumpers are included with each model to provide stability and minimize resonance on any floor surface.
Slated for a fall launch, the Prestige S10 ($699 U.S. MSRP) and S8 ($499 U.S. MSRP) will be sold worldwide through the specialty retail channel.
